The West Australian Floral Art Society Inc meets to cultivate an appreciation
of flowers and floral design and further develop the skills of creative floral design among its members by friendly competition at its meetings, with monthly demonstrations and periodic workshops. These meetings are designed to foster
a friendly atmosphere, to enjoy the beauty of flowers and admire the creative talents of members. Qualified Floral Art Judges assess and award 1st, 2nd & 3rd place certificates and provide constructive feedback on competitors’ designs. A floral demonstration is conducted during the afternoon providing important information
and inspiration on two subjects. A friendly cup of tea and light refreshments are
then offered to members, visitors and guests.

VISITORS ARE MOST WELCOME to attend our meetings (a $4 Visitors fee applies) every 2nd Saturday of each month (except January)  commencing at 1.05pm for 1.30pm at the Osborne Park Community Centre building located at 11 Royal Street, behind the BP Service Station, the corner of Main & Royal Streets, Osborne Park. Undercover Parking is located beneath this Centre and entry is via Royal Street. Other parking areas are also available around this venue. The meetings are held in the large meeting room located on the ground floor of the Osborne Park Community Centre Building which can either be accessed via the car park or from the main entry (library entry) located in Royal Street. If entering from the car park, take the lift to the ground floor and exit left to the main hall.

‘2006 State Championship for Floral Art’

The 2006 West Australian Floral Art Society Inc State Championship for Floral Art Competitions will be staged on Thursday the 23rd November and open to the public after judging on Friday the 24th November until Sunday the 26th October 2006 from 10.00am till 4.00pm daily.

An Invitation is extended to all floral artists and the general public to visit the Atwell Gallery in Canning Highway (near the junction of Canning Highway and North Lake Road–river side), Alfred Cove during these three days, where floral artists will stage and present their stunning floral designs.   

This prestigious event will showcase the talent of floral artists from around this state, where an array of stunning floral designs will be staged, being offered as competitive classes a very colourful and diverse array of styles will create a stunning feast of floral delights.

The official opening of these State Championship competitions will be held on Friday the 24th November with Her Worship the Mayor of Melville, Katherine Jackson JP, officially opening and presenting Awards to the floral artists competing in the State Championship. The WA Floral Art Society Inc Patron, Mrs Joan Tonkin MBE, will also attend the opening and present Awards and Certificates to the competing members.
